Class Changes

Every class inherently capable of casting spells maintains a ‘class spell list’ – these are the spells that a character can learn and cast without taking additional penalties to their Learning, Drain, and Control checks or spending additional learning points. A character’s class spell list includes all Universal spells plus any spells granted by class abilities or feats.


Barbarian
Totem Magic: At 1st level, a barbarian can choose to use Charisma as their spellcasting statistic instead of Intelligence, including the amount of bonus learning points they have.


Bard
Base Spellcasting Modifier: A bard’s BSB is +3/4 per level, rounded down like BAB.

Bardic Magic: At 1st level, a bard can choose to use Charisma as their spellcasting statistic instead of Intelligence, including the amount of bonus spell slots they have, and they add all 1st – 3rd level bard spells to their class list. A bard gains 4 additional learning points per level, including at first level, and at every level they may automatically learn a bard spell on their class list that takes up only one point. Also, they gain an additional bonus to Drain checks made while casting Arcane spells equal to 3/4ths of their bard level, and they do not suffer Spell Failure for casting spells in light armor.

Cantrips: A bard adds all 0th level bard spells to their class list, gains an extra learning point that can only be used to learn 0th level spells, and they can choose any two 0th level spells from the bard list to fill this point with without having to make a learning roll. When casting 0th level spells, a bard suffers no drain on a successful Drain check.

Greater Bardic Magic: At 10th level, the bonus spell that a bard learns at level up can now take up 2 points, and they add all 4th – 6th level bard spells to their class list.


Cleric
Base Spellcasting Modifier: A cleric’s BSB is +1 per level.

Clerical Magic: At 1st level, a cleric can choose to use Wisdom as their spellcasting statistic instead of Intelligence, including the amount of bonus learning points they have, and they add all 1st – 3rd level cleric spells to their class list. A cleric gains 6 additional learning points per level, including at first level, and at every level they may automatically learn a cleric spell that takes up only one point. Also, they gain an additional bonus to Drain checks made while casting Divine spells equal to their cleric level.

Orisons: A cleric adds all 0th level cleric spells to their class list, gains an extra learning point that can only be used to learn 0th level spells, and they can choose any two 0th level spells from the cleric list to fill this point with without having to make a learning roll. When casting 0th level spells, a cleric suffers no drain on a successful Drain check, and they do not suffer Spell Failure for casting spells in light armor.

Domain Spells: At 1st level, and every other level thereafter, a cleric automatically learns the appropriate level domain spells without expending the appropriate learning points, and treats these spells as being on their class list when learned.

Greater Clerical Magic: At 7th level, the bonus spell that a cleric learns at level up can now take up 2 points, and they add all 4th – 6th level cleric spells to their class list.

Legacy Clerical Magic: At 13th level, the bonus spell that a cleric learns at level up can now take up 3 points, and they add all 7th – 9th level cleric spells to their class list.


Druid
Base Spellcasting Modifier: A druid’s BSB is +1 per level.

Druidic Magic: At 1st level, a druid can choose to use Wisdom as their spellcasting statistic instead of Intelligence, including the amount of bonus learning points they have, and they add all 1st – 3rd level druid spells to their class list. A druid gains 6 additional learning points per level, including at first level, and at every level they may automatically learn a druid spell that takes up only one point. When casting 0th level spells, a druid suffers no drain on a successful Drain check, and they do not suffer Spell Failure for casting spells in light armor.

Nature Bond: A druid who chooses to select a domain as their nature bond automatically learns each of their domain spells at the appropriate level, without expending any learning point, and treats these spells as being on their class list when learned.

Greater Druidic Magic: At 7th level, the bonus spell that a druid learns at level up can now take up 2 points, and they add all 4th – 6th level druid spells to their class list.

Legacy Druidic Magic: At 13th level, the bonus spell that a druid learns at level up can now take up 3 points, and they add all 7th – 9th level druid spells to their class list.


Monk
Zen Magic: At 1st level, a monk can choose to use Wisdom as their spellcasting statistic instead of Intelligence, including the amount of bonus learning points they have.


Paladin
Spellcasting Modifier: A paladin’s BSB is +1/2 per level, rounded down like BAB.

Paladin Magic: At 1st level, a paladin can choose to use Charisma as their spellcasting statistic instead of Intelligence, including the amount of bonus learning points they have, and adds all paladin spells to their class list. A paladin gains 1 additional learning point per level, including at first level, and at every odd-numbered level they may automatically learn a paladin spell that takes up only one point. Also, they gain an additional bonus to Drain checks made while casting Divine spells equal to 1/2 of their paladin level, and they do not suffer Spell Failure for casting spells in medium armor.


Ranger
Spellcasting Modifier: A ranger’s BSB is +1/2 per level, rounded down like BAB.

Ranger Magic: At 1st level, a ranger can choose to use Wisdom as their spellcasting statistic instead of Intelligence, including the amount of bonus learning points they have. A ranger gains 1 additional learning point per level, including at first level, and at every odd-numbered level they may automatically learn a ranger spell that takes up only one point. Also, they gain an additional bonus to Drain checks made while casting Divine spells equal to 1/2 of their ranger level, and they do not suffer Spell Failure for casting spells in medium armor.


Rogue
The following rogue talents have been changed.

Minor Magic: A rogue with the minor magic trait gains the Cantrips feature, as per a wizard, gains a retroactive 2 spell learning points per level, a caster level equal to half their rogue level, and a BSB of +1/2 per level, rounded down like BAB, and they do not suffer Spell Failure for casting spells in light armor.

Major Magic: A rogue with the major magic trait may automatically learn a wizard spell that takes up only one point, and adds all 1st – 3rd wizard spells to their class list. Their caster level changes to their rogue level-3 (like a Ranger or Paladin). Also, they gain an additional bonus to Drain checks made while casting Arcane spells equal to 1/2 of their rogue level.

Ninja, in addition to being able to gain the rogue talents listed above as ninja tricks, gain the following class feature:

Shinobi Magic: At 1st level, a ninja can choose to use Charisma as their spellcasting statistic instead of Intelligence, including the amount of bonus learning points they have.


Sorcerer
Base Spellcasting Modifier: A sorcerer’s BSB is +1 per level.

Sorcerous Magic: At 1st level, a sorcerer can choose to use Charisma as their spellcasting statistic instead of Intelligence, including the amount of bonus learning points they have, and they add all 1st – 3rd level sorcerer spells to their class list. A sorcerer gains 6 additional learning points per level, including at first level, and at every level they may automatically learn a sorcerer spell that takes up only one point. Also, they gain an additional bonus to Drain checks made while casting Arcane spells equal to their sorcerer level.

Cantrips: A sorcerer adds all 0th level sorcerer spells to their class list, gains an extra learning point that can only be used to learn 0th level spells, and they can choose any two 0th level spells from the sorcerer list to fill this point without having to make a learning roll. When casting 0th level spells, a sorcerer suffers no drain on a successful Drain check.

Bloodline Spells: A sorcerer automatically learns each of their bloodline spells at the appropriate level, without consuming the appropriate number of learning points, and treats these spells as being on their class list when learned.

Greater Sorcerous Magic: At 7th level, the bonus spell that a sorcerer learns at level up can now take up 2 points, and they add all 4th – 6th level sorcerer spells to their class list.

Legacy Sorcerous Magic: At 13th level, the bonus spell that a sorcerer learns at level up can now take up 3 points, and they add all 7th – 9th level sorcerer spells to their class list.


Wizard
Base Spellcasting Modifier: A wizard’s BSB is +1 per level.

Wizardly Magic: A 1st level wizard adds all 1st – 3rd level wizard spells to their class list. A wizard gains 8 additional learning points per level, including at first level, and at every level they may automatically learn a wizard spell that takes up only one point. Also, they gain an additional bonus to Drain checks made while casting Arcane spells equal to their wizard level.

Cantrips: A wizard adds all 0th level wizard spells to their class list, gains an extra learning point that can only be used to learn 0th level spells, and they can choose any two 0th level spells from the wizard list to fill this point without having to make a learning roll. When casting 0th level spells, a wizard suffers no drain on a successful Drain check.

Arcane Bond: A wizard with a bonded item can gain a +5 bonus to a single set of spellcasting checks once per day.

School Specialization: At 1st level, a wizard that chooses to specialize in a school of magic gains the School Focus feat for that school as a bonus feat. Wizard spells in opposition schools can not be automatically added to the character’s spell list by gaining levels in wizard.

Greater Wizardly Magic: At 7th level, the bonus spell that a wizard learns at level up can now take up 2 points, and they add all 4th – 6th level wizard spells to their class list.

Legacy Wizardly Magic: At 13th level, the bonus spell that a wizard learns at level up can now take up 3 points, and they add all 7th – 9th level wizard spells to their class list.


Alchemist
Base Spellcasting Modifier: An alchemist’s BSB is +3/4 per level, rounded down like BAB.

Alchemical Magic: An alchemist adds all 1st – 3rd level alchemist formulae to their class spell list – these are treated as though they are spells. An alchemist gains 4 additional learning points per level, including at first level, and at every level they may automatically learn an alchemist spell that takes up only one point. Also, they gain an additional bonus to Drain checks made while casting Arcane spells equal to 3/4ths of their alchemist level, and they do not suffer Spell Failure for casting spells in light armor.

Greater Alchemical Magic: At 10th level, the bonus spell that an alchemist learns at level up can now take up 2 points, and they add all 4th – 6th level alchemist formulae to their class list – these are treated as though they are spells.


Inquisitor
Base Spellcasting Modifier: An inquisitor’s BSB is +3/4 per level, rounded down like BAB.

Inquisitorial Magic: At 1st level, an inquisitor can choose to use Wisdom as their spellcasting statistic instead of Intelligence, including the amount of bonus learning points they have, and they add all 1st – 3rd level inquisitor spells to their class list. An inquisitor gains 4 additional learning points per level, including at first level, and at every level they may automatically learn an inquisitor spell that takes up only one point. Also, they gain an additional bonus to Drain checks made while casting Divine spells equal to 3/4ths of their inquisitor level, and they do not suffer Spell Failure for casting spells in medium armor.

Orisons: An inquisitor adds all 0th level inquisitor spells to their class list, gains an extra learning point that can only be used to learn 0th level spells, and they can choose any two 0th level spells from the inquisitor list to fill this point without having to make a learning roll. Greater Inquisitorial Magic: At 10th level, the bonus spell that an inquisitor learns at level up can now take up 2 points, and adds all 4th – 6th level inquisitor spells to their class list.


Magus
Base Spellcasting Modifier: A magus’ BSB is +3/4 per level, rounded down like BAB.

Magus Magic: A magus adds all 1st – 3rd level magus spells to their class list, gains 4 additional learning points per level, including at first level, and at every level they may automatically learn a magus spell that takes up only one point. Also, they gain an additional bonus to Drain checks made while casting Arcane spells equal to 3/4ths of their magus level, and they do not suffer Arcane Spell Failure for casting arcane spells in light armor.

Cantrips: A magus adds all 0th level magus spells to their class list, gains an extra learning point that can only be used to learn 0th level spells, and they can choose any two 0th level spells from the magus list to fill this point without having to make a learning roll. When casting 0th level spells, a magus suffers no drain on a successful Drain check.

Resistance Pool: At 4th level, a magus may spend a number of arcane pool points equal to twice the learning points a spell takes up to gain a +5 bonus on the spellcasting checks to cast that spell. At 11th level, a magus only has to spend a number of pool points equal to the learning points a spell costs to gain this bonus. This ability replaces Spell Recall and Improved Spell Recall.

Knowledge Pool: At 7th level, a magus’ arcane pool replenishes, they can decide to expend points from their arcane pool to cast any spell they have heard of from the Sorcerer/Wizard list, with a -5 penalty to Drain and Control checks; they must spend a number of arcane pool points equal to the number of learning points it would cost to learn that spell.

Greater Magus Magic: At 10th level, the bonus spell that a magus learns at level up can now take up 2 points, and they add all 4th – 6th level magus spells as being on their class list.

Greater Spell Access: At 19th level, a magus treats all 0th – 6th level wizard spells as being on their class list.


Oracle
Base Spellcasting Modifier: A oracle’s BSB is +1 per level.

Oracular Magic: At 1st level, an oracle can choose to use Charisma as their spellcasting statistic instead of Intelligence, including the amount of bonus learning points they have, and they add all 1st – 3rd level oracle spells to their class list. An oracle gains 6 additional learning points per level, including at first level, and at every level they may automatically learn an oracle spell that takes up only one point. Also, they gain an additional bonus to Drain checks made while casting Divine spells equal to their oracle level, and they do not suffer Spell Failure for casting spells in light armor.

Summoner
